Earned a degree in anthropology from UCLA in 1984.
In between all of that I got married and raised three children, all of whom now have their own families and live far away (sigh).
Bob is my 2nd husband. We eloped to Lake Tahoe over 16 years ago and began our wonderful life together in Murphys. We have 5 grandchildren.
When my hearing loss became profound and forced me to retire from active nursing practice (eight years ago), I decided that it was time to fulfill a passion for art that I have had all my life. I began studies in watercolor painting with Carolyn Macpherson, a most wonderful person and magnificent artist and teacher.
I exhibit my work as often as opportunity allows. My art has been juried into many shows and received many awards. I enjoy the creative process, the challenge of the watercolor medium itself, the 'gift' of talent and the blessing of encouragement from my dear family and friends.
I created the library arts program for children, "Bookmark The Arts". The kids and I have lots of fun with this several times during the year. Our next session will be held at the Copper library. Contact Valerie Dean at the library to reserve a spot.
My art is presently being shown and is available for purchase at Plaza Furniture in Copperopolis, Nellie Lou's Antiques in historic Angels Camp and at La Petite Maison in Jamestown. I am grateful to these business owners who had faith in me and my ability to present something 'different' to their customers.
